TS200 Series Machine
“Leading Supplier of all types of Threading Equipment”
Carrage
The carriage is an all-steel, rigid, flat deck-type component
arranged to mount a choice of carriage vise or special purpose
fixture (At customer request). A hammer blow hand wheels,
which intensity gripping power without operator fatigue, are
used to operate the vises, is fitted as standard. A pneumatic
vise is available at extra cost.
Movement of the carriage on to and away from the die head is
accomplished by means of a hand wheel on the standard
machine(fig.1), whose stroke can be adjusted for operating
convenience. Carriage travel, however, is dependent upon the
equipment and tooling used. A Ballscrew version is also
available, shown on the front cover. The pitch and speed
required are via a simple data entry procedure into the operator
interface.
Extremely long thread lengths can be produced by re-gripping
and passing the workpiece through the hollow spindle. (see
above “Note”)
The carriage front is adjustable, both horizontally and vertically,
to assure proper work alignment with the die head. When
necessary, this adjustment can be quickly made by loosening
two bolts and moving the carriage front into correct position by
means of two adjusting screws.
Linear motion recirculating ball bearings and hardened and
ground bedways are used to assure smooth effortless travel.

Coolant System
The coolant system is operated by an electrically driven pump housed externally on the bed of the machine for ease of maintenance and
drawing the coolant from an eight gallon tank in the base of the machine. Delivery is by an adjustable nozzle to the cutting position.
Headstock Spindle
The headstock is of a box construction and of heavy cross-section. It is positioned on the machine bed to provide maximum rigidity and
permanent alignment with carriage ways. A large heavy-duty hollow spindle is used on the TS200 Threading Machine and is enclosed in the
fabricated steel headstock.
Landis heat treated die head
This unit comes equipped with either a 1", 1 ½ or 2"
revolving, external trip, yoke operated "R" Lanco Heat
Treated Die Head as standard equipment. Sturdy in
construction, this head also permits rapid set ups, gives
trouble free operation and is easy to adjust.
For cutting left hand threads, left hand chaser holders are
required for the die head. However, the same chasers
employed for right hand threading may be used for cutting
left hand threads merely by grinding the proper cutting angles
on the opposite end of the chasers. When these chasers
have been replaced in their correct position in the left hand
holders and the head opening spring reversed, no other die
head changes are required.
Chasers
Landis tangential chasers are used in all Landis die heads. This tangential type
design was pioneered and introduced by Landis. Through the use of Landis
tangential chasers, a basis for true threading economy can be established as
follows:-
1. Long chaser life is received between grinds.
2. The chasers are usable for 80 per cent of their original lengths.
3. Only a few thousandths of metal need be removed when
regrinding.
4. When regrinding it is not necessary to remove the same amount of
metal
from the cutting edge of each chaser. Thus, if one chaser is
damaged it can be
reground and returned to service although much
shorter than the other
chasers of the set. It could also be replaced
with a single new chaser, if
necessary.
In addition, a single set of standard Landis Chasers can be used to thread all
diameters requiring the same pitch within the range of the Lanco Die Head.
For example, M16 x 2.0 Thread can be threaded with the same chasers used to
produce a M30 x 2.0 Thread. Other distinct advantages, such as natural
clearance, variable rake angle and permanent throat provide better thread finish
and superior thread accuracy.

T200 Series Machine
This machine is available to suite your individual needs, from a manual machine
to fully automatic CNC controlled.
Transmission Speeds
One of the unique features of this new machine is its variable speed control via
an inverter capable of producing infinitely variable speeds from 20 to 240 r.p.m..
it is powered by a 5.5kW. 1440 r.p.m. motor. (Thread rolling speeds differ).
Note:- If the machine is required to cut threads greater than the traverse length
a hand adjustable variable speed drive gearbox will be fitted.
